Mooring Line Leash close up on clip seizing

Evolution of the Mooring Line Leash

My initial versions of the Mooring Line Leash were using some leftover rope from the lanyards. I just cut a longer piece and tied knots to hold the clip and make a handle. They were purely functional and kind of ugly. I bought a book for a primitive sailor's ditty bag pattern that had info on rigging. Sure enough there was a method called seizing to create an eye or loop using ropes. Seizing looks clean and is strong as well!

Will it hold?

Short answer is yes. The leash will hold under normal circumstances. You should obviously be looking over any leash that you have for your dog before use and this is no different, but I have no doubts that it will last a very long time with care. You shouldn't use it for a life line or use it to hold substantial weight. A dog that pulls and is strong willed has been using my leash for quite a while already!

A Leash? I thought this was an EDC-Focused Store!

I have a dog! My family has dogs! They're around us all the time and they're family. EDC means different things for different people. I don't quite use it everyday, but I wanted a functional and nice looking leash for my dog that doesn't break the bank. I decided to make one instead of buy it and I wanted to do my best to make it affordable.

When can I get it?

Right now!! There's a listing of "mentioned products" below this blog post, check it out.
