We’re almost at the end of 2025 and a lot has happened with Kraken’s Key Trading Co. There’s also a lot planned for 2026. I want to first and foremost thank everyone for supporting this small business in any way, shape or form. That goes from anything to viewing this site to liking a post on social media. Even though it wasn’t right away, we sold out of our notebook covers! It was the first “successful” drop. They sold out over the course of the second half of the year, but I’ll take that as a win any day. I’d like to update everyone on what’s planned for 2026 and what’s already in motion.
Website Look and Feel Refresh
I’ve started doing a slight overhaul to some graphics used for the business, colors for the website and media. I felt that the older text logo didn’t quite fit with the tone of the brand. The colors needed to mesh a little more and go off of one another instead of just the high contrast between the dark grey and white that was used before. Since you’re reading this and if you’ve seen the old look and feel, you’ll probably notice.
2026 Pocket Calendars
I already received this next year’s calendars and I’m very pleased with the look and feel. The paper is slightly thicker and now a natural color. The design was updated to go along with the new text logo as well. There will be one included with every notebook order! Right now since 2026 isn’t quite here yet, there will also be a 2025 one included until January 1st, 2026.
Cove and Slip Drop
There will be a Cove and Slip drop early in 2026. We’ll be using https://wickett-craig.com/leathers/english-bridle-sides/ in Dark Brown. Since we’ve sold out of the ones in the Badalassi Pueblo, we figured doing another drop in a different type of leather would be in order.
New Items Coming
We’ve had a new item that’s being tested and needs some tweaks yet. It’s effectively a Boatswain with a spot for a knife, pen and flashlight. I was calling it the Boatswain V2, but I think another name is in order. I’d like to have the Boatswain in addition to this new product.
Videos
The plan for 2026 is to also create some more long-form content. Product highlights, EDC dumps and review on gear. I have a lot of gear that I’ve gone through and EDC bags that I’ve used and I’d love to share my experience with everyone. I also love seeing just about any and all EDC pocket/bag dumps so I figured I’d give it a go.
That’s most of what we have planned for 2026 so far. I think there will be a lot more to the year, but I wanted to have a plan for at least the first half of the year. We’ll be hitting year 3 of the business being started and I feel that we still don’t know what we want to be when we grow up.
